About RasterForge
RasterForge is a small, practical project for making segmentation of satellite, aerial, and georeferenced imagery easier to repeat, review, automate, and export.
The product is shaped around a simple belief: remote-sensing segmentation should feel closer to a reusable workflow than a one-off model demo. Imagery, render choices, profiles, masks, edits, review decisions, and GIS exports should stay connected.
What it wants to be
A focused workspace for geospatial segmentation work that has to be repeated, checked, and handed off.
Values behind the project
These are the product values I want RasterForge to keep as it grows. They are intentionally practical: make the hard parts visible, keep repeated work reusable, and make reviewed output easy to move into GIS.
Easy segmentation
The first job is to reduce setup friction around real imagery. Import the data, prepare a useful model view, and get to a reviewable mask without rebuilding the workflow every time.
Geospatial-native data
GeoTIFFs, bounds, render profiles, masks, GeoJSON, and GIS exports are treated as core product objects, not files attached after the model run is done.
Repeatable workflows
A good result should become reusable. Render choices, prompts, examples, classes, thresholds, and review state should travel together across similar scenes.
Bulk and automation
Repeated targets often span many images or projects. Bulk runs and automation belong near the center of RasterForge, especially when the target definition is already proven.
Human review
Model output should be inspected, cleaned, and explicitly selected before export. The reviewed result matters more than the first mask the model returns.
Honest beta scope
RasterForge is a hobby project with limited capacity. The goal is a careful, useful workflow for real segmentation jobs, not a polished enterprise platform.
What it is not
Keeping the project useful also means being clear about its edges. RasterForge should be honest about the jobs it is built for and the jobs better handled elsewhere.
Not a replacement for GIS. RasterForge should prepare and review segmentation outputs, then hand them off cleanly.
Not an automatic truth machine. SAM 3-backed masks still need human judgment, cleanup, and downstream validation.
Not a full annotation platform. The focus is geospatial segmentation workflows, reusable profiles, review, and export.

Download the official transparent logo mark and browser icons for articles, project references, and other RasterForge coverage. The complete pack includes high-resolution artwork, a preview sheet, and favicon sizes from 16 to 512 pixels.
Please keep the mark's proportions, colors, transparent gaps, and comfortable clear space intact. The package contains raster artwork; contact support if a different production format is needed.
Where it goes next
The center of gravity is reusable segmentation for real geospatial data: better profile reuse, stronger review flows, safer automation, and exports that preserve enough context for downstream work.
The project will stay shaped by practical workflows: water masks, vegetation, buildings, roads, field boundaries, roofs, solar sites, wetlands, and other visible targets where review matters.
