Terms of Service

Last updated: 2026-02-01
Quick summary
  • RasterForge is an independent, experimental project — no uptime promises, no SLA, and you should keep your own backups.
  • Not affiliated with or endorsed by Meta. We run SAM 3 on our own backend; Meta does not operate this service.
  • You’re responsible for only uploading imagery you control and have rights to use.
  • Use is credit/limit-based; we can rate-limit, throttle, or suspend to keep the service healthy.
If you don’t agree to these terms, don’t use the service.

1) Who we are

RasterForge (“Service”) is operated by Morten Fjord & Malthe Dahl in Denmark (“we”, “us”).

We are not affiliated with Meta and Meta does not endorse or sponsor this Service. We use Meta’s Segment Anything Model 3 (“SAM 3”) under its license.

2) The service (beta)

The Service helps you build segmentation workflows on imagery (including satellite/geo rasters) using prompts (clicks/boxes/text), then save layers so you can resume later.

Beta reality check
  • Things can break. Outputs can be wrong. Data can be lost.
  • We may change features, quotas, formats, credits, or pricing at any time.
  • You should export/backup anything you care about.

3) Accounts

When login is enabled, you’re responsible for safeguarding your credentials and activity under your account. Tell us ASAP if you believe your account is compromised.

4) Your content

You may upload imagery and related project data (“User Content”), including (for example): GeoTIFF/PNG files, AOIs/bounds, render recipes, prompts, masks, vectors, layer metadata, and workspace names.

You own your content

You retain ownership of your User Content. You grant us a limited license to host, process, store, and display your User Content solely to provide the Service (saving workspaces, running segmentation, letting you resume later).

You’re responsible for rights/permissions

You represent that you have all rights needed to upload and use the imagery and that your use complies with applicable law. Don’t upload content you don’t control (or don’t have permission to process).

Sensitive uploads

Don’t upload highly sensitive personal data unless you’re comfortable with the risks of cloud processing. This is not a regulated or certified system.

5) Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • break the law (including privacy/data protection laws);
  • attempt to breach security, scrape, overload, or disrupt the Service;
  • upload malware or content designed to harm systems or users;
  • use the Service in ways that violate the SAM 3 license requirements (next section).

6) SAM 3 license requirements (important)

The Service uses SAM 3 on our backend. Your use must comply with the SAM 3 license, including:

  • comply with applicable laws, including trade controls and privacy/data protection requirements;
  • do not reverse engineer, decompile, or try to discover underlying components of SAM 3;
  • do not use SAM 3 for ITAR-related activity or prohibited end uses, including military/warfare, nuclear industries/applications, espionage, or development/use of guns or illegal weapons.
Meta does not provide support or warranties for SAM 3; it’s provided “as is”. This Service is also provided “as is”.

7) Credits & limits

Early deployments may be free with limited credits/usage caps (for example, by render size or number of runs). We may enforce rate limits, concurrency limits, and quotas to prevent abuse and keep the Service available.

We can change credit rules, limits, or introduce paid plans later. If we charge money in the future, we’ll publish the pricing terms before billing you.

8) Availability & changes

We don’t guarantee uptime, performance, or that the Service will be available at any time. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service (or parts of it) at any time.

9) Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. Outputs may be incorrect or incomplete. You are solely responsible for how you use results.

Don’t use this Service for high-stakes decisions (safety, legal, medical, or similar).

10) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost profits, or business interruption.

If liability can’t be fully disclaimed, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the last 12 months (or €0 if you paid nothing).

11) Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these terms or if we shut the project down.
